We made it!
We finally made it to Austin! It was a somewhat easy trip… once we got out of Oregon… We started the adventure without functional break lights or turn signals on our U-Haul car-dolly, but my dad helped us find and replace the dead fuses. Then, just before we hit the Idaho border, a tire on the U-Haul blew out! We sat on the side of the road in no-where’s-ville for about two-hours getting eaten by mosquitos while we awaited the service provider, who, when he arrived, was quick and polite. Not too bad, so far as those experiences go.
Lesson learned: U-Haul does not maintain their vehicles well, and we’ll be looking to a certain Yellow-colored moving truck for our next adventure.
Today’s our fifth day in Austin, and though we’re still unpacking, we’ve found the time to visit an amazing synth shop (read: nerd porn) called Switched On, dedicated to all things electronic music. Matt and I each found at least one item for our respective wish lists.
More pictures from the trip as soon as I can find/unpack the camera cord…
