Starting the New Year off Right

Matt and I just got back from a chilly 10-mile hike through the Gorge. I can’t think of a better way to kick off 2011!

day at the Deschutes

Yesterday we took Kashiko and Cho to the Deschutes River for a day of adventure. Chico wasn’t feeling too adventurous, and found a nice spot to lay in the shade. Cho, on the other hand, was ready to party from the moment we arrived. She wanted to explore some overgrown trails—which we did—and I contracted poison oak on my leg. Awesome!

The pets seem to like riding in the car together—the ride there and back is half the fun!

It started out as a rainy morning, but we’re not the sort of people to give up too easily. Turns out hiking in the rain is the way to go, since it limits the amount of people you run into on the trail (which is ideal as far as we’re concerned).
